In the month of June this year, i went to Thailand Bangkok for a short
work/getaway trip… i was invited to AFA Thailand for the 1st time! it
was AFA in Thailand for the first year as well, i m super glad that i was
one of the only 2 butlers that are invited, the other butler is a close friend
of mine, hellven. it was a fun trip!
i extended the trip by 2 more days so i could have some personal time
alone, i spent my alone time in Bangkok sleeping, walking around, exploring
some hipster cafes and relaxing.
During this trip, i took plenty of selfies, eh… not bad selfies, so i decided
to post them. lol, the entire trip photos round up to almost hundred over
pics, and i decided to break the entire trip photos into 3 parts.
Reason i hate breaking travel posts into parts:
1. I hate that the posts will other irrelevant posts in between.
2. normally you will start with day 1, day 2, day 3, but when readers reads
3. your blog, the newest post will line up on top, so the sequence will be
4. mixed up, it become day 3, day 2 and day1. hate it…
5. No impact of one long ass blog post.
but i realised the moment all the contents are within one post, it will get flush
down into the next page in a snap. lol. that makes me don’t wanna update more
stuff because i want the post that i put in so much effort stay on 1st page for
longer time. dilemma.. i just can’t both…
So i came up with a solution, i will bring the long ass post into parts but i m
updating the post other way round, i will start from day 3 then day 2 then end
with day, so when readers read my blog, it will be start with day 1 being the
newest post, then go down like that. and i will post each day post with a 1 day
interval, no new update in between. so it will a perfect solution, full chronicle
sequence, no irrelevant post in between and most important the post with
much effort wouldn’t get flush down that quickly.
I realised all three days photos are taken at cafes. therefore i name the 3 posts
as 2015 Drink Coffee, Free, Love. while styling the logo, i styled it as 2 drink 0
coffee 1 free 5 love.
Kinda make a little sense to me, like it meant, Drink Zero
Coffee, Want Free(dom), Find love.
In this 3 posts, It is a catalogue for my instal-boutique The Nut Case! i stop for
a long time as there’s some cork up with the supplier, but its more or less fixed

This cafe is really tiny YET super pretty, they sell many fragrances and lifestyle
products, like skin care, body and hair care, even plates and stationary…
something like a small scale Muji, but their stuff are very please at eye sight, very
pretty, i bought a glass bottle… but broke it within a week after coming back to
singapore… so heart pain. lol.

This cafe is the sister outlet of the famous karmakamet Diner, that one that overly
hyped all over instagram, the one with the rainbow cotton candy, i m sure you seen it
before, every Singaporean who visit bangkok recently will visit that cafe. the Everyday
Karmakamet is definitely less over plugged and crowded, so if you are true blood hipster
( want to discover and experience the undiscovered/less exposed places/things) here’s
where you should go!
This is actually the last day of my bangkok trip, right after the onesome brunch at Everyday
Karmakamet i packed up and headed to the airport, one the way back to sg i actually
misplaced my SD card….. yes i know right, super drama.
then later on i even called my
thai friend to help me call up the airport to find it, but later i realised the SD card was
actually left at this korean BBQ place in singapore!!!!! HENG!!!! if not this entire post will
even be happening.
lol. its a fake tattoo…!! lol, gotcha!! (?) lol, actually i wanted to get one
but i m too pussy… maybe when i hit the big 3, i will do it. to shake off
the pretty boy image.
I reached back sg at about 11pm, i rushed my ass down to meet hellven and nich for a
farewell supper (where i misplace my SD card.as this nich is leaving for shanghai for a
entire year… meaning i will not able to see him for that long, he is one of those friends
who i don’t meet up often, but when i do, i always have so much to say!!!! its kinda sad
that we wouldn’t be seeing one another for a long time, but at the same time, i m very
happy for him, anyone who is doing stuff good for their future is applaudable. we had a
good time catching up and saying goodbye.
will miss him dearly!
Come back 1 day later for the part 2 of the 2015 Drink Coffee. Free. Love post! on
the next post, there will more photos of the handsome hellven!! he was with me
for 1 day in bkk. heh. also other part of Nut Case Collection 2 catalogue!!
To be honest, a straight flush of 3 consecutive blog advs…. i felt guilty AF…
i told myself, i need to blog something interesting before i could have the
cheeks to blog another advert, i spent the entire week doing this post,
luckily, i m breaking it up into 3 shorter post, if not i sound kinda that as its
one just update. lol. i m gonna get super super super super super super
busy… well, i kinda one shot accepted too many advertorials. this month
alone i accepted 10 advs…. okay yes, its kinda massive, i didn’t know!!!
i promise myself to be busy, so when advertisers came and all i did was
accept them without thinking then when i seat back and count. WEETEEEFF
It’s too late to back out. looking on the bright side, coming back to blog
full time, i have a fantastic start!! but come to think about it, i promise
you guys, the ratio of advs : non-adv blog posts will be 1:2… that means,
i’ll have I NEED TO BLOG 20 BLOG POST TO CLEAR 10 ADVS. WEETEEF…
KILL ME NOW…..
In case you are wondering, actually i m wondering too, since i m so freaking
busy, why do i still wanna carry on with the nut case..? well, before i start the
nut case, i promise myself to NOT easily give up on it, i guess many blogshop
and online business all had wonderful beginnings but most of them didn’t
sustain, as maybe one bad collection, one bad week, one bad month. they
simply just stop trying and give up, but look, those successful blogshops been
there done that, the only reason they are alive to this date, it’s not because
they had awesome winning formula… simply because they refuse to give up.
So this is my fight, doing the nut case, don’t earn me much really, actually to this
date i kinda haven’t even earn back my investment, but i wanna continue to do it
to test my patience, the level of perseverance, my ability to not giving up.. i could
do this, i could do bigger things next time. the nut case will be my little experiment
for future business adventures!
Blithe & Merry Days w/ Bioré UV Aqua Rich Watery Gel
What’s a Blithe and Merry day out? Without the harmful sun
slowly consuming your skin with age…?
Not quite possible, without a sunblock.
But seriously nobody likes sunblock, then how?!
As I mentioned many times before, I used to work for a beauty skin
care brand when I was much much younger. I’ve been to a few courses
to study skin care products, and I swear, one of the most important
products in the skin regime is the sunscreen. YET EVERYONE HATES IT.
I’m guilty of it too, I seriously hate sunscreens. Especially in a country
like Singapore, my face turns greasy within an hour when I am outdoors.
As much as I hate sunscreens, I know all signs of aging is actually
caused by the harmful UV Rays… Which is very agonising for, Bohbian
(no choice) Have to apply a bit sunscreen, but recently I’m introduced
to the all-new Biore UV Aqua Rich Watery Gel SPF50+ PA++++!!! It
promises a maximum level of sun protection, yet if feels as good as
NOTHING on your skin! It is water based and can be fully absorbed
by the skin, leaving it absolutely NO greasy residue.
I was very skeptical about the sunscreen actually, not this, generally
ALL of them, especially this SPF 50 ones, which keeps you protected from the sun for a
super long duration of sun protection. Confirm very sticky please. Lol. Prior to even
trying the new Biore UV Aqua Rich Watery Gel SPF50+ PA++++, I have already
read Miyake and Qiu’s blog about it and i thought, it actually sounded really promising.
The day I’ve tried it. I was sold. It’s really super light. I tried it my hand
1st, then I even applied it on my face, and it has this really really light texture,
and I don’t feel greased up at all. The No.1 Sunscreen Brand in Japan, Bioré
didn’t fail me. Lol. *Faith in sunscreen restored* super surprised that it didn’t
compromise on its high SPF with the texture!
Let me remind you, the long term exposure to the sun’s harmful UV rays without
proper protection can cause permanent damages such as premature skin
ageing, wrinkles & freckles, as well as, various skin damages like discolouration,
sallowness and dryness. If you have lousy luck, it could even lead to skin cancer!!!
There’s one male blogger (not gonna mention his name) that I idolized a lot
when I was much much younger and he has this habit of constantly sun tanning,
I guess he didn’t bother with sunblock as most of the guys are extremely
lazy and in just a few years, he look so so so so much older, like look a lot older
than his actual age, that was actually my wakeup call.
With this awesome new technology, a sunscreen that is as light as NOTHING,
gives me no excuse not to protect my skin, I don’t wanna end up like him!!!!!
SPF, UVB, UVA and PA++++?? Sounds confusing right? But here aremore product
information on these terms and how it save/damage your skin:
The most damaging UV rays can be classified into different wavelengths, known
as UVA and UVB. UVA rays penetrate into the deeper layers of our skin as
compared to UVB rays, and are also the dominant tanning ray. The penetrative
ability of UVA rays through glass means that even when you’re seeking shelter
indoors, your skin continues to be exposed to its harmful effects which can cause
cumulative damage such as wrinkling and skin ageing.
On the other hand, UVB rays cause the most damage to the outer layer of skin such
as reddening of skin and sunburns. Without proper protection, prolonged exposure
to UVB rays can cause long-term damage to skin’s epidermal layers.
Industry’s highest level of UV protection, keeping you safe from harmful UV damage!
Sunscreen products are rated based on two rating systems, known as the Skin
Protection Factor (SPF) and the PA rating system. The SPF rating determines the
duration of time your skin stays protected against UVB rays from the sun. The
calculation method is simple – SPF Rating x (no. of minutes for skin to darken
under sun) = No. of minutes skin is protected from UVB rays
SPF50 x 20mins = 1000mins of protection from UVB
(equivalent to 16 hours of protection)
A sunscreen with the rating of SPF50 is sufficient coverage, as it blocks up to 98
percent of UVB rays from penetrating into skin. Anything higher than a SPF50 rating
compromises on the texture of the sunscreen, making it heavier and greasier when
applied to skin.
On the other hand, the PA rating is a Japanese rating system that shows how much
protection you are receiving against UVA rays. The higher the number of pluses, the
greater the protection against UVA rays. Currently, the highest standard of PA protection
in the industry is PA++++.
Here’s me doing a mini demonstration on the sunscreen:
Unlike the common sunblock, which stains your skin with a layer of
obvious white residue causing you to like you’re wearing a layer of wrong shade
(fairer) of foundation. Lol. But the awesome Biore UV Aqua Rich Watery Gel
SPF50+/PA++++ does not give such issues!!
You should try the product before you decide to love it!
No matter how promising the products may seem, how
fantastic I say it is, it’s not gonna be as powerful convincing
as compared to you guys trying it yourself! Therefore, Bioré is

Running on a tight deadline for this advertorial, yet I wanted to shoot it outdoor for this
concept advertorial. Turns out this entire week it is gonna rain everyday. I grabbed my
camera down to my house nearby to shoot when I see a glimpse of sun… It was super
rush, I bet you couldn’t tell these pictures are taken in the rain… Yes it wasn’t heavy
but it was drizzling. I was telling myself, if I don’t do it today, I’ll never able to get to do it
for the entire week, and I was already fully dressed. And these pictures are actually
taken in two different days, the 1st try, it started thunder storm, I had no choice but to
run home. Luckily day two was only drizzling… I dressed up in the same outfit to
shoot for the adv.
Blame my perfectionism whenever it comes down to work. Even if I had to shoot in the
rain, I brave through it. Lol. I noticed that I had been rushing and working super hard
on these blogposts yet didn’t really post any pics up… I have to remind myself to update
my Instagram more often!!!
